I've been trying to lose weight for awhile now, but it's difficult to stick on such a strict diet as I have to when you have a husband who loves to eat everything I can't. :P This next year I'm going to UNC Chapel Hill to start my PhD, and I'll be there on my own for the first year, and then Tony will be coming to join me when he's done at his job in Columbia.
With having PCOS, one of the normal side effects is insulin resistance, which is why many people with PCOS are overweight. The way I am dealing with this is taking Metformin to regulate my insulin production (deal with the insulin resistance) and then be on an Atkins style diet. On top of all this, I'm also allergic to milk, making my diet very minimal. I can have all the meat, veggies and berries I want. :/ Yeah, my diet is that awesome...
I'm also going to try to work out at least four days a week, if not more. I'm hopefully going to be doing a mix of run/walking and weights.
I'm going to start posting a picture every month (in the same/similar outfit) to help document my journey over this next year. I'll post my first picture after I've made it to UNC and settled in (end of August).
